Melbourne has some of the best coffee I have tried in the world! About a year ago, I let go of my coffee habit and switched it for matcha. It’s a great alternative to coffee and it still gives you energy without the crash. I love getting matcha lattes, but couldn’t resist diving into Melbourne’s well-renouned coffee scene. There is a wide variety of vegan cafes and coffee shops in Melbourne. This is actually the main reason I wanted to visit the city. Dive into the best vegan cafes and coffee shops in Melbourne for your next visit. It’s worth a trip for their flat white alone!
My Favorite Vegan Cafes & Coffee Shops In Melbourne
Campos coffee
Location: Carlton
Amazing coffee + treats (get the raw breakfast bar) plus their almond milk flat white tastes like a regular flat white – creamy and delicious! It is also spacious and trendy with fast wifi making it a great place to chill with your laptop for a while 🙂
Peppans
Location: Chapel St, South Yarra
Brand new and offers great coffee and chai lattes! This place is really a restaurant but has the vibe of a coffee shop. They offer the yummiest lattes, fast wifi, and plenty of comfy sitting areas to chill for a while.
Brother Baba Budan
Location: Downtown Melbourne
By far the best coffee anywhere! It beats all the other coffee shops in Melbourne that I tried. This place is always packed and for good reason. Their lattes taste like heaven- even a decaf almond milk latte tastes better than any regular latte I’ve ever tried. The place is small but cute. You will have to fight someone for a seat. Don’t worry though; it’s all worth it for the coffee. Must try at least once!
Market Lane Coffee
Location: Chapel St, South Yarra
I tried Market Lane Coffee on our last day in Melbourne and only wish to have tried it sooner. They have incredible coffee! It was the only place I ordered a regular iced coffee and it was delicious. The only downside is that their coffee menu is limited, and they don’t offer dairy-free milks. Because of this I couldn’t get my regular flat white, but they looked really good too. While you’re here be sure to check out the market for organic fruits and a variety of other goodies. A great coffee shop in Melbourne!
Radhey Kitchen
Location: Fitzroy
Cheap, healthy, and delicious vegan food! This place is super hippie and I love it! You can choose 1, 2, or 3 portions of comfort vegan food that gets made fresh daily. Some of the choices include vegan Moussaka (delish!!), vegan kofta balls, and vegan soups. If you like comfort food, this is your place. They also have a chai bar!
Matcha Mylkbar
Location: Chapel St, St. Kilda
So this place was my absolute favorite. Why? Because matcha everything! I’m obsessed with matcha and a place that serves all vegan food along with many matcha items (and has the name matcha in it) is bound to be memorable. They offer a bunch of delicious brunch options including ‘poached eggs’ that are entirely plant-based! Bonkers!
