On December 1st, 2021 Fiji will start welcoming fully vaccinated travelers from the following countries: United States, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Japan, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany and most Pacific Island Countries and Territories.
According to Fiji Minister for Tourism it’s been almost 2 years since Fiji welcomed international travelers. With about 40% of Fiji’s gross national product coming from the tourism industry, Fiji was hit pretty hard during the pandemic.
Fiji Airways – the country’s national airline – plays an important role in the country’s reopening. They now offer holiday packages on their website. These packages include round-trip US flights, accommodation, transportation and food. The prices start at $1299 per 1 adult for 6 nights at Shangri-La Yanuca Island with a round-trip flight from LA.
Fiji Travel Requirements:
To enter the country travelers need to be fully vaccinated and show a negative Covid test. An additional PCR test is required 2 days after the arrival.
Unvaccinated children under 18 must be traveling with a vaccinated adult.
Prior to arrival travelers are asked to download CareFiji app that can be found in Google Play or App Store.
CareFiji website offers an up to date list of travel requirements – here.
It also allows to book accommodation compliant with reopening program requirements.
All local businesses need to follow guidelines laid out by the country’s CareFiji plan.
According to CareFiji, 80% of adults in Fiji are fully vaccinated as of mid-October 2021.
