Staying at Hotel Puerto Sherry was one of the highlights of my tour of the South of Spain. Hotel Puerto Sherry is located in the province of Cádiz, just about 20 minutes outside of town. Puerto Sherry is a beautiful marina with some small beaches nearby to enjoy the hot summer sun. It’s a great place to relax for a few days, work on your tan, and enjoy the beautiful views of the marina.
I arrived to Hotel Puerto Sherry late the first night after having a rather eventful ride from Marbella. Everything was going well that day until I decided to book a Blah Blah Car for the ride and ended up breaking my iPhone right before leaving Marbella! Since I am traveling solo, my phone is my lifeline. I use it to keep track of my hotel stays, to get around each city with Google Maps, and to post photos and update my stories on Instagram. Having my screen shatter and blackout was really scary, but thankfully the girl giving me a ride knew where Hotel Puerto Sherry was located and dropped me off at the door. Once I arrived, I told my story to the guy at the front desk and luckily he knew a guy who fixed iPhones and could come to the hotel next day. LIFESAVER!!
After having resolved my issue I was much more relaxed and ready to enjoy a glass of wine in my suite. My room was simple but comfortable and had an amazing balcony with an impressive views of the marina. I spent more of my time out in this balcony – tanning by day and drinking wine by night, all while listening to my Spanish Spotify playlist 🙂
The next morning I headed to Hotel Puerto Sherry’s outdoor restaurant for breakfast. They serve a buffet-style breakfast with tons of variety of hams, breads, fruits, and pastries. They also have a hot-plate station where a chef can cook up a variety of breakfast items like scrambled eggs, tortilla de patata, crepes, and pancakes! I served myself a bunch of fruit, made a tortilla de papata and veggie sandwich, and finished things off with fresh-squeezed OJ and green tea. Having breakfast with a view of the marina was a perfect way to start the day!
Cádiz town is a little far from Hotel Puerto Sherry, so you need a car to get there, but there is still plenty to see around the hotel. After breakfast I headed to my room to tan in my balcony for a while, and then went for a long walk to explore town. There are lots of cute cafes and restaurants on the boardwalk and a nice beach towards the end. Definitely worth a stroll!
Once I got back to my hotel after a long day of exploring I was rewarded by a beautiful sunset. I sat outside on my balcony watching the sky change colors over the marina. There is no better way to end the day!
Have you been to Cádiz? Did you also explore Puerto Sherry? If so, what did you think of it? Let me know in the comments below!

I have never been to Cadiz but it looks amazing! =o) And the staff at Hotel Puerto Sheery sounds incredible! It is the worst when you have a phone issue when you travel so it’s great that they helped out =o)
All of this looks and sounds amazing! I’m really glad your iPhone got fixed because that is a nightmare and happened to me in Cartagena this past December! I really want to visit Cardíz now though- thanks for all the advice!
