Casa Amora Is The Best Bed & Breakfast In Lisbon

Lisbon is a city with some of the most beautiful boutique accommodation I’ve ever experienced. Each place I stayed at in Lisbon was more beautiful than the last, each standing out in its own way. For the last 2 nights in Lisbon I stayed at a studio at Casa Amora – the most amazing Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the city.

I arrived at Casa Amora without any real expectations. I had seen photos of their rooms on Instagram and the website, but was not sure exactly what to expect. I have only stayed at one Bed & Breakfast before, in Marbella, and loved the experience so I figured I would enjoy my stay here as well. The thing is, B&B’s are more personal, which I really like, but I also like having my space and privacy. I was happy to learn that apart from rooms in the main house, Casa Amora also offers studios. I stayed at one of these and it was amazing!

The studio I stayed in was located right outside the main house, had it’s own entrance from the street, and was decorated beautifully. The studio had a sitting area, bedroom area, bathroom, and kitchenette. It was spacious yet cozy, and once I checked in I didn’t want to leave (no surprise there!).

The nice thing about staying at these studios is that you have your privacy, but can still interact with the other guests if desired. You have access to the main house which has a kitchen and a gorgeous courtyard. I spent my evenings having tea here 🙂 This is also where breakfast is served every morning.

Now, you guys already know I am obsessed with breakfast, and the one at Casa Amora did not disappoint. In fact, it’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. I know I keep saying this, but hear me out! I loved the breakfast experience as it was more home-y. Casa Amora really pays attention to its guest’s needs and only uses organic ingredients. Everything is prepared that same morning by the kindest woman. She made something different every morning, but you can expect to have things like homemade quiche, freshly baked croissants, pastel de nata (a Lisbon specialty), cakes, scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit. They also have a variety of loose-leaf teas and coffee. Both mornings my breakfast lasted about 2 hours haha. The manager is also the kindest person and even gave me my own avocado (from their avocado tree!!!) after I told him how obsessed I was with avocado.

Overall my stay at Casa Amora is one I’ll always remember. Staying at this bed & breakfast felt partly like staying with family, and partly like staying at a super cool Airbnb. A perfect balance! I highly recommend you checking them out if you prefer a more home-y, warm experience for your trip to Lisbon.

Have you stayed at a bed & breakfast before? What was your experience like? Let me know in the comments below!

xx, Karen
