Fairmont Miramar – The Coolest Beachfront Hotel In Santa Monica

Being by the beach is always my favorite type of staycation. Although I live in Long Beach and Santa Monica is only a few miles away, it still feels like a world away. This beach town in LA has so much to offer, including great shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and luxurious accommodation – like the Fairmont Miramar.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Fairmont Miramar for a night to end my weekend with a bang. The hotel was actually packed when I arrived. Being that it was a Sunday, it was full of both locals and tourists finishing off their weekend either having lunch at the amazing Fig restaurant, hanging out by the pool, or partaking in Sunday Funday at The Bungalow – a very popular bar in LA.

I checked into my cute bungalow on Sunday afternoon and was greeted with an assortment of yummy snacks. My bungalow is one of 32 compromising the hotel’s premium suites. They are located on the ground floor, near the pool area. The bungalows feature spacious and comfortable beds, a stocked mini fridge and bar, double-sinks and a large tub in the bathroom, and a private patio perfect for your morning coffee/tea.

While staying at the Fairmont Miramar I also had the opportunity of trying their amazing restaurant, Fig. Fig is actually frequented by celebrities, including California’s ex-governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I was invited to join a group of journalists along with the hotel’s pr for a nice dinner at Fig. The dinner involved us trying almost the entire menu, and every plate was more impressive than the other. I do have to admit that I ended up giving in and trying some of the cheese while there. Fig has their own cheese specialist and my mouth was watering while the chef was describing all the different cheeses. I tried a very strong cheese which I believe was French, and it was so good it made me miss Paris. Other than the cheese, a dish that stood out was the roasted cabbage. It was surprisingly delicious and recommend everyone try it!

After dinner we also took a little tour of the bungalows and ended up in Bungalow 1 – the presidential suite. The suite was gorgeous and had the most amazing round bathtub! It was so beautiful that I got in it for a picture on IG stories. My new life goal is to have one of these in my home. I’m not kidding about that either. Serious goals!

Overall my stay at The Fairmont Miramar was a pleasant one. I loved my bungalow, the food was amazing, and the overall vibe of the hotel just puts you in a good mood. This hotel is 5***** without the pretentiousness. This is something my laid-back beach girl personality deeply appreciates. I definitely want to come back later in the summer to enjoy the pool. June Gloom is in full bloom (didn’t intend to rhyme, just don’t know how else to say this!) so the days are very grey and cold – not pool/beach weather yet! If you’re planning on visiting The Fairmont Miramar perhaps try to come in July or August to enjoy the pool and beach to full extent!

Have you ever stayed at The Fairmont Miramar? What was your experience like? Let me know in the comments below!
